This Privacy Policy explains how HardYards (“we”, “us”, or “our”) collects, uses, discloses, and protects your information when you use our website, applications, and related services (collectively, the “Services”). By using the Services, you agree to this Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the Services.

Who we are

HardYards provides software for tradespeople to manage quoting, materials, compliance, and accounting workflows. References to “we”, “our”, or “us” mean the HardYards operating entity providing the Services to you.

Scope

This Policy applies to information we collect through our website, apps, communications, and integrated features. This Policy does not cover third-party websites or services that we do not control.

Information we collect

  • Account & Profile: name, email, trade type, company details, country/state, and preferences you set (e.g., markup, pricing mode).
  • App Content: quotes, materials, invoices, expenses, attachments you upload (e.g., logos, signatures), and other data you enter to use the Services.
  • Usage & Device: app and website activity, pages/screens viewed, interactions, approximate location, device type, operating system, browser, timestamps, and diagnostics/crash data.
  • Transactional: subscription status, plan tier, trial status, and billing metadata processed by our payment provider. We do not store full card numbers.
  • Cookies & Similar: cookies, local storage, and similar technologies to keep you signed in, remember preferences, improve performance, and measure usage.
  • Communications: messages you send us (e.g., via contact forms or email), and support/request history.

How we use your information

  • Provide, operate, maintain, and improve the Services.
  • Set up and manage accounts, subscriptions, and entitlements.
  • Generate documents (e.g., quotes, invoices) and power features you choose to use.
  • Send service messages (e.g., confirmations, changes, security alerts).
  • Provide support, troubleshoot issues, and respond to requests.
  • Monitor usage, analytics, and prevent fraud or abuse.

Sharing & processors

We do not sell personal information. We share information with trusted service providers (“processors”) who help us operate the Services, subject to contracts and appropriate safeguards:

  • Hosting & Infrastructure: providers that host our app/website and databases.
  • Authentication & Database: services that power sign-in and data storage.
  • Payments: Stripe (or similar) to process subscriptions and billing; we do not store full card data.
  • Email & Notifications: providers that send transactional/support emails.
  • Analytics & Diagnostics: to understand usage and improve reliability.
  • Professional Advisors & Legal: where necessary for compliance or to protect our rights.

We may disclose information if required by law, to respond to lawful requests, or to protect users, the public, or the Services. In a merger, acquisition, or asset sale, information may be transferred as part of that transaction.

International transfers

Our providers may process data in multiple countries. Where required, we implement safeguards (e.g., standard contractual clauses) to protect your information during cross-border transfers.

Retention

We keep information for as long as necessary to provide the Services and for legitimate business needs (e.g., security, fraud prevention, accounting, and legal compliance). We may retain backups for a limited period.

The Services are not directed to children, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us to request deletion.

We may update this Policy from time to time. We will post the updated Policy and change the “Last updated” date. Material changes may be communicated via the Services or by email.
